The Beauty of What's Left

The freezing temperatures of the past few nights have ushered an entirely new texture into the garden. Gone are all but a scattering of summer blooms that remind us of the lush beauty that filled the garden this year. Our nature makes us look out the windows and feel the loss of what's gone. Our optimism leads us to project hope for what may return or take its place.

But we have to be careful not to dismiss the beauty of what's left.

  1. As a neighbor in Urbana, this was certainly a weekend to admire the fall garden! I did end up taking in my Adirondack chairs, garden metals and wind chime, but everything stills looks so golden, it was a bit sad to admit there won't be many more outside weekends.
