New Life in the Garden

In my garden, most of the focus of my work and my camera lens centers squarely on the plants that make up the landscape. But every so often, I'm reminded that a garden isn't made just of the plants, but also the non-plant life that completes the ecosystem of this quarter-acre slice of earth. Tonight was one of those nights, when -- after a heavy rain hand flattened many of the flowers and the plant foliage hung heavy with moisture -- I checked in on the mourning dove chicks nestled in the spruce tree in the front border.
